Heinrich Joseph Kiefer

Heinrich Joseph Kiefer (* 1799 in Cologne , † January 14, 1882 in Wiesbaden ) was a German judge and politician .

Kiefer was the son of Carl Kiefer and his wife Friederike nee Gros. He was a Catholic and married to Julie von Discount.

In 1815 he served as a volunteer hunter in the Wars of Liberation . He then studied law and in 1822 became an auditor with the German Legion in the Greek struggle for freedom. In 1825 he became an ausculator in Cologne, in 1826 an actuary at the Hammerstein judicial office and in 1827 a legal clerk in Münster. In 1828 he was provisional justice of the peace in Ahrweiler, then in Cochem, where he was definitely justice of the peace in 1830. In 1836 he also became a regional court assessor in Cochem. In 1840 he was judge of the peace in Krefeld and in 1844 (formally) district judge in Koblenz (in terms of content he was instructing judge in Simmern). From 1846 he worked at the Koblenz Regional Court and from 1860 as Chamber President at the Saarbrücken Regional Court . In 1865 he retired and then lived in Wiesbaden.

In 1850 he was a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament . He was an honorary member of the Wiesbaden Warrior Association and was awarded the Red Eagle Order 3rd class with the ribbon.
