Heinrich Julius Blume

Heinrich Julius Blume (born February 13, 1805 in Sarstedt , † February 9, 1884 in Hamburg ) was a merchant and member of parliament.

Life

From 1820 to 1829, Blume received a commercial training in Braunschweig and Hamburg. From 1829 he worked in Havana . In 1834 he founded his own company in Guadalajara . In 1853, Blume left Mexico and settled in Hamburg. From 1856 he was also doing business in Hamburg under the company name HJ Blume . The company was continued by his sons after his death. From 1878 until his death he was a member of the supervisory board of the Hanseatic fire insurance company .

He worked as a commercial judge from 1859 to 1862, and was a member of the higher court from 1863 to 1865. In 1863 he held the office of tax assessor. From 1871 to 1884 he worked in the municipal administration of the Sankt Petrikirche .

From 1859 to 1863 he was a member of the Hamburg citizenship .
