Heinrich Julius Koebicke

Heinrich Julius Köbicke (born July 26, 1803 in Berlin ; † August 28, 1873 ibid.) Was a German architect and construction clerk .

Life

Köbicke studied at the Berlin Building Academy and then worked for Karl Friedrich Schinkel from 1832 to 1838 . In 1832/33 he accompanied August Stüler and Carl Scheppig to Italy. He then became a state employee in Schneidemühl and Gleiwitz until he came to police headquarters in Berlin in 1852. There he was in charge of a “Commissarium” set up by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Public Works and the Chief of Police to create a new development plan for Berlin. In 1858 he suffered a stroke and James Hobrecht took over his duties. From 1859 until his retirement in 1863, Köbicke worked at Hobrecht. Own buildings are not known.
