Heinrich Kaufringer (active in the decades around and before 1400 in Landsberg am Lech ) was a German writer, poet and important author of Mären .

The marches

Paul Sappler's edition assigns him 32 (27 of which have been confirmed with certainty, five of which are probably false) pair-rhymed texts, 13 of which were included in Hanns Fischer's fairy catalog. The remaining poems include legends and spiritual speeches as well as didactic texts. The length of the texts ranges from a good 100 to around 750 verses.

The vast majority of the mars are fluctuating in character and characterized by an act of adultery.

The mars are titled:

  • The sued farmer
  • Mayor and prince
  • The returned minnelage
  • The cowardly husband
  • The monk as a messenger of love (Version B)
  • The search for the happy couple
  • Canon and shoemaker
  • The pants left behind
  • Three crafty women B
  • The tithe of love
  • The husband's revenge
  • The innocent murderer
  • The sleeping fur
