Life
Together with his brother Carl Leffers , Heinrich Leffers founded the Leffers manufactured goods store in Langen Strasse in Delmenhorst in 1894 . From this small beginning, a large clothing department store developed in the following years, which became the parent company of a number of branches. The business idea that was revolutionary at the time was to replace price negotiation with fixed price displays. The Leffers brothers were able to win the trust of their customers through cash sales, the possibility of exchanges and low prices. Even after the company was converted into a stock corporation, Leffers AG, the company remained family-owned. The other brothers Georg Leffers and August Leffers founded another branch of the company in Wilhelmshaven in 1902.
From August 1919 to 1925, with an interruption from 1920 to 1922, he was a member of the Oldenburg state parliament . He was followed from 1925 to 1928 by his brother Carl Leffers as a member of the state parliament.
