Heinrich Maria Koester

Heinrich Maria Köster SAC (born July 1, 1911 in Olpe ; † May 29, 1993 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Life

He was ordained a priest on March 14, 1937 in Limburg an der Lahn. He continued his studies at the University of Bonn and from 1937 also in Münster . During the war, from 1940 to 1943 he was chaplain in the East Sudetenland and from 1943 to 1945 in Cologne and Vallendar . After the war he had been assistant professor at the Pallottine University in Schoenstatt since the winter semester . From 1950 he was professor of dogmatics and the history of dogma and from 1956–1974 its rector . He taught at this university until his retirement in 1976.
