Heinrich Matthäus Lohe

Heinrich Matthäus Lohe (born July 2, 1675 in Hof , † May 17, 1762 in Hof ) was a German painter .

As the son of Heinrich Andreas Lohe , Heinrich Matthäus Lohe continued the family tradition of the Hof painters family in the second generation. He was also a court attorney and geometer . In St. Lorenz he made the portrait of Magister Adam Nik. Meyer and two votive pictures with a large number of precisely worked out depictions of clergy against a landscape background. He completed a similar picture, begun by his father, for the hospital church and carried out other similar work there. Further works of art can be found in Gattendorf , Birk and Pilgramsreuth . Several times he painted works in the Knoll art workshop .
