Heinrich Schlette

Heinrich Schlette (also: Johann Heinrich Schlette ; born October 19, 1822 in Hanover ; † March 22, 1897 ) was a German teacher and librarian .

Life

Schlette was together with Heinrich Rave editor of the 1861 first time in publishing the Hahn'schen Hofbuchhandlung published German reading book .

Schlette worked as a teacher until 1886, according to the address book, city and business handbook of the royal residence city of Hanover and the city of Linden to the year 1886 at the Bürgererschule I ; the evangelical-Lutheran primary school was located in the old town, Köbelingerstraße 5 , but had its own entrance for girls on Leinstraße. In the same year, the city librarian at the same time lived privately in the house at Emmerberg 17 , on the ground floor, which is also the address of the bookstore assistant Gustav Schlette.

In addition to his work as a teacher, Schlette worked as a librarian for the Historical Association for Lower Saxony and the Societätsbibliothek , and from 1878 to 1894 as the city librarian of Hanover.

Schlette bequeathed a book collection to the Hanover City Library, which is counted among the valuable donations there.
