Heinrich Schmid (born December 7, 1611 in Nürtingen , † February 23, 1653 in Tübingen ) was a German Protestant theologian as well as professor and rector at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Heinrich Schmid enrolled as a student at the University of Tübingen in 1629. He was there from 1640-1651 professor of the Greek language, 1651 / 52-1653 second full professor of theology, superattendent of the Tübingen monastery and in 1647 and 1651 rector of the University of Tübingen.

His portrait hangs in the professors' gallery in Tübingen .
