Heinrich Schmidt (politician, 1910)

Heinrich Schmidt (born April 7, 1910 in Rohrsen , Nienburg / Weser district ; † October 28, 1988 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After finishing elementary school, Heinrich Schmidt went to high school. He then attended an agricultural college and in 1935 went into business for himself as a farmer. On May 1, 1937, he applied for membership in the NSDAP .

During the Second World War he was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1939 ; he fell into French captivity , from which he was released in 1947.

In 1948 he became a member of the Rohrsen municipal council and mayor there the following year. He was elected to the district council of the Nienburg district in 1952, and he also became a district committee member. From 1962 he took over the chairmanship of the Nienburg district association of the CDU. From January 28, 1965 to June 20, 1974 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (5th to 7th electoral term).

Heinrich Schmidt held a leading position in various agricultural organizations, so in 1953 he took over the chairmanship of the Rohrsen pig fattening performance testing institute. He was chairman and landscape councilor of the 3rd curia of the Hanover- based Calenberg-Grubenhagen landscape .

He was married and had three children.
