Heinrich Schneider (writer)

Heinrich Schneider (born July 18, 1905 in Weißenstadt , † December 14, 1985 in Tutzing ) was a German writer . Above all, he emerged as a hunting teller .

Life

Heinrich Schneider was the son of a forester . He became known for his articles in the hunting press. He published in the German hunting magazines Wild und Hund , Die Pirsch and Der Deutsche Jäger as well as in the Austrian hunting magazine Der Anblick .

His first book called Eight Animals and a Forester Boy. Experiences with animals appeared in 1954 and was designed as a book for children and young people. His other animal books, friendship with forest animals (1963) and forest animals our friends (1977), were primarily aimed at a younger reading public. Schneider wanted to familiarize young people with the forest ecosystem and its inhabitants.

With Der Forstaufseher Moosbichler , which appeared for the first time in 1960, Schneider had his most successful book, which had eight editions by 1985. Nepomuk Moosbichler, who was the forest ranger at Schneider's father, is remembered to this day as a Bavarian original, known for his drastic sayings.

Heinrich Schneider, who had lived in Dießen am Ammersee for a long time , died in Tutzing in 1985 .
