Heinrich Schomburg

Heinrich Schomburg (born September 14, 1630 in Hildesheim , † June 11, 1690 in Salzgitter ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

Schomburg was a son of the merchant Johann Schomburg and the councilor's daughter Maria Schomburg, born. Schowart, in Hildesheim. He attended the Andreanum grammar school in his home town of Hildesheim, received further training from Rector Schowart, a relative of his mother's, in Celle and studied theology at the universities of Helmstedt and Jena . In between he made a trip to the Netherlands to Delft, Amsterdam and Leyden. In 1655 he received his master's degree.

In 1657 Schomburg received a call to the first parish in Salzliebenhall (Salzgitter). He was ordained by General Superintendent Achatius Mylius and introduced to his office on October 11, 1657. In 1658 he was appointed superintendent for the Liebenburg office, and in 1663 also the inspection of the churches in the Schladen, Wiedelah and Vienenburg offices . On August 2, 1669 he was appointed consistorial councilor in the Hildesheim consistory. From 1679 he was also general superintendent of the general diocese of Bockenem .
