Heinrich Stranka
Heinrich Stranka (born May 10, 1922 in Pomeisl , Czechoslovakia , † November 13, 1983 ) was a German lawyer and local politician ( SPD ).
Career
After graduating from high school in 1940, Stranka was called up for military service. He was taken prisoner by the British. After his return, he studied from 1947 to 1950 law . He completed his legal preparatory service at the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court . From 1955 he practiced as a lawyer in Fürth .
In 1947 he became a member of the Young Socialists and from 1950 to 1958 he was Juso district chairman in Franconia . In 1948 he moved into the Fürth city council . From August 1963 until his death he was second mayor of Fürth. In the mayor election on March 8, 1964, he was defeated by Kurt Scherzer (FDP) with 48.3% to 51.7% of the vote.
He was a member of the federal executive committee and the Bavarian state executive committee of the Seliger community .
