Heinrich Tecklenborg (born July 25, 1811 in Bremen , † April 1, 1875 in Bremen) was a German captain and author

biography

Tecklenborg was a son of the sailmaker and ship owner Franz Tecklenborg (1780-1821). His mother was Anna Christina Claussen (1784-1830).

As captain, he commanded, among other things, the Bark Mentor and the full ship Emma, built in 1839 at the Johann Lange shipyard . Tecklenborg was primarily active as a captain in passenger and cargo shipping to North America and in 1841 was accepted as a member of the Bremen institution “ Haus Seefahrt ”.

From 1869 to 1873 Heinrich Tecklenborg was chairman of the German Nautical Association .

His brothers Franz Tecklenborg (1807–1886) and Johann Carl Tecklenborg (1820–1873) were also committed to the maritime family tradition as shipowners and shipbuilders.

In addition to his work as a captain, Tecklenborg was also active as an author of literature on maritime law and wrote the following works, among others:
