Heinrich Theodor Kimpel

Heinrich Theodor Kimpel (born January 22, 1862 in Hattendorf ; † January 5, 1928 in Kassel ) was a German teacher and politician ( DDP ).

Life

The son of the elementary school teacher Heinrich Kimpel and Lina, born. Vogeley, attended the teacher’s seminar after high school . He passed the examination as an elementary school teacher and worked as such from 1882 to 1885 at the city school in Grebenstein . In 1885 he switched to the Kassel Citizens' School, where he worked as a primary school teacher until 1918. In addition, he was director of the commercial apprentice home in Kassel from 1901 to 1918 . In 1918 he became a district school inspector in the Witzenhausen school supervisory district . Two years later he took on the same function in the Hofgeismar district . From 1921 he was initially an unskilled worker and then until his retirement as a school council member of the Kassel government (Department of Church and School System).

In addition to his professional activity, Kimpel published numerous papers on the elementary school system as well as treatises on school policy in magazines. From 1906 to 1919 he was editor of the Hessische Schulzeitung . He also dealt with beekeeping. From 1905 until his death he was chairman of the Association of Hessian Beekeepers.

Kimpel joined the German Democratic Party (DDP) after the November Revolution. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the Prussian State Constitutional Assembly . In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1924. In parliament he represented constituency 19 (Hessen-Nassau).

Heinrich Theodor Kimpel had been married to the merchant's daughter Auguste Burhenne since 1886. In 1887 their son Wilhelm Heinrich was born, who died in the war in 1918, and in 1891 the twin daughters Emmy and Elisabeth.

The Kimpelstraße in the Kassel district Wehlheiden was named after him.
