Heinrich Wagner (cartographer)

Heinrich Wagner (born May 13, 1846 , † November 21, 1921 in Leipzig ) was a German cartographer .

Life

Heinrich Wagner was the first son of Eduard Wagner . He was trained as a lithographer in his father's company . He worked at FA Brockhaus in Leipzig, where he met Ernst Debes .

From 1872 they jointly ran the Darmstadt-based company Eduard Wagner under the name “H. Wagner & E. Debes ”. After Baedeker-Verlag, one of the company's main clients, had completely relocated its headquarters from Koblenz to Leipzig, the lithographic establishment was also relocated to Leipzig on January 1, 1873, Eduard Wagner retired from business life and Heinrich Wagner became the new director of the company.

In 1902 his two sons Eduard (* 1876) and Carl Wagner (* January 2, 1871) joined the company, together with Ernst Debes' son Eugen Debes (* 1875).
