Life

The Franciscan Heinrich Wesenborch was on December 10, 1400 by Pope Bonifatius IX. appointed titular bishop of Daria . In a Mecklenburg document, Bishop Heinrich appears for the first time as auxiliary bishop on March 30, 1402. He granted 40 days indulgences in favor of the Gertrudenkirche in Rostock and thus joined the benefactors of the church. Bishop Gerhard Holtorp von Ratzeburg and the titular bishop Jacobus von Constantia had already given the same indulgences. So did the diocesan bishop Rudolf III. in a document dated August 10, 1394.

According to a document issued on August 25, 1404 in Rostock, Heinrich, Auxiliary Bishop of Bishop Rudolf von Schwerin, granted a 40-day indulgence to all those who attended the service of the Calendar Brotherhood at the St. Mary's Church in Rostock or who supported it with gifts. It is not known whether Bishop Heinrich already had his permanent residence in the Rühn monastery at that time. On April 19, 1408 was the diocesan Bishop Rudolf van ghodes gnaden byschop tho Zwerin vnde Hertoghe tho Mekelenborgh, greue tho Forstembergh, tho Rozstok vnde Star Guard here in a Rühner original document as newable inghode vader ago Hinric byschop of Daren, the zuluen monastery tho Rune vorstander called .

On December 27th, 1409, the beginning of the year was December 25th, Bishop Rudolf domino assigned Hinrico episcopo Dariensis, nostro in pontificalibus vicariogenerali ... certain powers in the still pending litigation with the city of Stralsund . Also on January 11, 1410, Bishop Heinrich and the archdeacon Molner were still active in Stralsund, which is documented.

On February 3, 1421, Bishop Heinrich was mentioned again as head of the Rühn monastery. When and where he died remains unknown.

Bishop Heinrich had a pointed oval seal , under a richly articulated gable an apparently crowned entire figure of a saint, in his left hand a chalice, on the right a scepter or rod. Below in a further niche the half-length figure of a bishop with miter, the right raised as a blessing, with the left holding a book.

The inscription reads: S FRIS HINRICI DEI GRACIA EPI DARIENSIS.
