Heinrich Wiegand (singer)

Josef Anton Heinrich Wiegand (born September 9, 1842 in Fränkisch-Crumbach , Odenwald , † May 28, 1899 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German opera singer ( bass ).

Life

He sang in Zurich, Cologne, from 1873 to 1877 in Frankfurt am Main, 1877 in North America with the Adams-Pappenheim troupe, from 1878 to 1882 at the Leipzig City Theater, then at the Vienna Court Opera , from 1884 to 1890 at the Hamburg State Opera and finally at the Munich Court Opera . Wiegand took part in the Nibelungen performances in Berlin in 1881 and London in 1882, and sang Gurnemanz and King Marke in Bayreuth in 1886 . In 1897 he went mad.
