Heinrich von Brockdorff , also Heinrich Ditlevsen Brockdorff (born January 1, 1600 in Hemmelmark near Eckernförde , † April 4, 1671 in Aabenraa (?)) Was a German officer and politician.

Life

Brockdorff was the son of the bailiff of Mohkirchen Detlev von Brockdorff and his second wife Margarethe von Blome . The Danish governor Christian Reichsgraf zu Rantzau was his brother-in-law.

Between 1640 and 1657 Brockdorff was lieutenant colonel and captain. As such, he was the commander of his own company. At times he served as a colonel in a Gottorfish regiment.

Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt-Köthen came to Schleswig in September 1642 on his north German trip . There he took together with a group of courtiers Duke Friedrich III. von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf and Heinrich von Brockdorff joined the Fruitful Society . The prince gave Brockdorff the company name of the covering party and the motto with full bloom . The full climatis ( Clematis viticella L. ) was given to him as an emblem . Brockdorff's entry can be found in the Koethen society book under the number 393. The rhyme law can also be found there, with which Brockdorff thanks for the admission:

Climatis blue and full covered the corridors
Pulled on it, it spreads widely
I hot cover drumb: a brave courage stretches
After all that is good, I have to quarrel with the bad
And cover up such things: he stretches for virtue
Willing to guide others next to you at the same time:
He covers with full blood in his lifetime
Evil, if he is always ready to bear fruit.

In 1647, after the end of the Swedish-Danish-Holstein war, Brockdorff abdicated as commander of the troops and was appointed bailiff of Aabenraa in 1655 .

In 1655 he was named Commander of Brockdorff . Whether it is a real rank or just a polite phrase is debatable.

Heinrich von Brockdorff died at the age of 71 on April 4, 1671, probably in Aabenraa .
