The Kellersee is a lake in Holstein Switzerland . It lies east of Malente in the course of the Schwentine , is 560 hectares in size, up to 27 m deep and is about 24  m above sea level. NN . To the southeast of the lake is the Eutin district of Fissau , on the north bank the district of Sielbeck.

Management

The Kellersee is managed by the Schwarten fishery. This also runs a small restaurant directly on the lake shore.

Fish fauna

The Kellersee has a very good population of pike , zander , perch , which, like the different depths, shoals, perch mountains and steep crowd edges, and are found in reed edges frequently at prominent points of Unterwasssertopografie. Vendace and lake trout predominantly live in the deeper open water areas . In addition to the species mentioned, eels , as well as non-coarse fish such as carp , bream , tench , roach and rudd, also occur in large numbers and sometimes in high piece weights, mainly in the warmer bank zone . There have been certain changes in the populations of the bleak , inland smelt , whitefish and tadpole species . The riverside region is not accessible everywhere without a boat due to the sometimes dense reeds. The lake, which is classified as having good to medium regeneration potential in terms of water reutrophication, is divided into numerous bays and interspersed with larger herb fields. Its bottom consists largely of sand, stone, gravel and silt fields.

Weather change

In some parts of the lake there can be dangerous downward winds , especially in the Fissau Bay, as the lake is located between two steeply sloping hills in the mouth of the Schwentine at this point. This is due to the ice age history of the area. This can lead to acute distress at sea.
