Fissau is a district of the East Holstein district town of Eutin in Schleswig-Holstein . With around 2000 inhabitants, the village is the third largest district of Eutin after the city center and Eutin-Neudorf .
location
Fissau lies between the shores of the Kellersee and the Great Eutiner See in Holstein Switzerland . The center of the village is about three kilometers from the city center of Eutin, and the other Eutin districts of Sielbeck, Sibbersdorf and Neudorf are at a similar distance. A large part of the Seeschaar forest is located in the village .
The traffic connection takes place among other things via the highway 174, which connects Fissau with Malente as well as the federal highway 76 . The nearest junction of the federal motorway 1 is Eutin , the nearest train station is in the Eutin core city.
History and population development
The village, which was first mentioned in 1201, belonged to the rural community of Eutin until 1933, before it was incorporated into the city of Eutin as part of a territorial reform. While the village had fewer than 150 inhabitants around 1700, there were already more than 600 people in 1867 and more than 800 in 1925.
politics
According to § 13 of the Eutin city statute, the village has a village board who represents the interests of the village towards the city councils. In local elections, the village together with the village Sielbeck form the twelfth and together with the village Sibbersdorf the thirteenth municipal electoral district of Eutins.
Public facilities
In Fissau there is a church, a voluntary fire brigade, several kindergartens and one of the two branch offices of the Eutin elementary school, which is attended by around 90 children from the village and from the Sibbersdorf village. In addition, the state police school and the police department for training and advanced training and for the Schleswig-Holstein riot police are located in Fissau.
Culture and sport
In addition to the sports facilities of the State Police School, which has a large sports hall, for example, the sports facilities of the Eutiner Waldeck with the Fritz Latendorf Stadium are located in Fissau. The sports fields there are used for several sports, in particular for athletics and football. The Waldeck is the home ground for all four Eutin football clubs.
In Fissau there is the village club Fissau-Sibbersdorf as well as with the TSV Fissau and the Post SV Eutin two sports clubs founded in the village. The outdoor facilities of the Eutin tennis club are also in the immediate vicinity of the Waldeck.
