Seeschaarwald

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Seeschaarwald is a recreational forest in the municipality of Eutin , Ostholstein district . It is around 52.6 hectares in size and is located north of the Great Eutin Lake . It can be reached from the city center via the Bebensund Bridge . The western part borders on Fissau , the eastern part on Sibbersdorf , to the north it is delimited by the road between Fissau and Sandfeldkrug. On the eastern part of the lake you will also find the thatched roof houses "Schäferei", which are reminiscent of the fruitless attempt to use the sandy soil as sheep pasture.

Towards the end of the Second World War , the Seescharwald was a brief hiding place for fleeing National Socialists. On October 16, 1973, the Seeschaarwald was declared a recreational forest by state ordinance. Today it is a popular destination for Eutin tourists.
