Heinrich von Eltz (Bailiff)

Heinrich von Eltz (also: Heinrich von Eltzen or Henricus ab Eltz ; * May 11, 1599 , † February 20, 1661 ) was a German nobleman .

Life

Heinrich von Eltz came from the Lower Saxon noble family von Eltz. He was the son and successor of the Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg captain and office Vogt s Ludolf von Eltz.

Heinrich von Eltz lived through the Thirty Years War from its beginning to its end. During this period he had the von Eltz'sche hereditary burial set up on the south side of the St. Petri Church. In view of the war events, he had an inscription on the tombstone for his father as a reminder of earthly suffering.

1634 married Heinrich von Eltz Elizabeth Bullen, daughter of in Minden making city council and pen Council Anton Bullaeus . Shortly after the end of the war on June 15, 1649, the couple had their son Ludolf Henning von Eltz .

Von Eltz had the buildings destroyed in the war rebuilt on the Amtshof.
