Ludolf Henning von Eltz (born June 15, 1649 in Burgwedel ; † May 10, 1718 ibid) was a German officer and Burgwedel magistrate .

Life

Ludolf Henning von Eltz was born barely a year after the end of the Thirty Years' War . He was a descendant of the old Lower Saxon noble family von Eltz , of whom several members are buried in the Church of St. Petrus in Burgwedel. In the church, to be entered through the entrance door with the coat of arms of the von Eltz family in the crown, the colored tombstone of his grandfather Ludolf von Eltz was also placed.

Ludolf Henning von Eltz worked at the time of the Electorate of Braunschweig-Lüneburg as lieutenant colonel and bailiff in Burgwedel.

As governor in Burgwedel, von Eltz married Dorothea Leveke Reiche (born November 27, 1644), the second wife and widow of the bailiff of Steuerwald Ludolph Behling , on December 5, 1678, who died less than three years after the wedding on November 27, 1681.

The bailiff of Eltz had his seat on one of the two former aristocratic, free farms on site. After the death of Ludolf Henning von Eltz, the von Eltzsche aristocratic seat was bequeathed to his son-in-law Ludolf Arnold Heinrich Reinbold († 1735).
