Heinrich von Moos (Schultheiss)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heinrich von Moos († July 20, 1430 in Lucerne ) was a Swiss nobleman and, among other things, mayor of the city of Lucerne.

Life

Heinrich von Moos was a son of the Junker and Landammann Heinrich von Moos .

Caused by the same name as his father, some sources name a Schultheiss or Altschultheiss Heinrich von Moos , who is said to have perished in the battle of Sempach in 1386. However, this is not correct because his father died in the battle and did not hold the mayor's office. Another source falsely describes the wounding of Heinrich von Moos in battle.

Heinrich von Moos held the dignity of mayor in 1391, 1420, 1423 and 1425, alternated until 1430 with the post of Landammann of the city of Lucerne. In 1387 and 1414 he was elected to the Small Council of the City of Lucerne. From around 1402 he was a councilor . From 1413 to 1415 he was run as Vogt von Rothenburg and from 1421 to 1427 as a builder .

He had received the Bailiwick of Malters as an Austrian pledge , which was awarded as an imperial loan by Emperor Sigismund in 1424 and after his death in 1431 .
