Werner Heintzsch

Werner Heintzsch (born March 2, 1929 , † December 2, 2008 in Dresden ) was a German actor and singer .

Life

Heintzsch grew up in the GDR and completed a vocal course at the Academy for Music and Theater in Dresden . Heintzsch played as tenor buffo in the 1950s at the Hans-Otto-Theater in Potsdam until he moved to Dresden in 1958. At the Dresden State Operetta he had numerous brilliant roles as tenor buffo - among other things, he played Pappacoda in One Night in Venice , Boni in Die Csardasfürstin or Lämmermeier in Frau Luna . Werner Heintzsch later switched to the comedian field, where his great love was the lively and critical operettas of Offenbach . Two roles that meant a lot to him were Menelaus in the beautiful Helena and Jupiter in Orpheus in the underworld . Other roles were Prince Ypsheim in the Viennese Blood , Prince Basil in The Count of Luxembourg and the Frog in the Bat .

Werner Heintzsch was an ensemble member of the Dresden State Operetta for 36 years and performed in over 80 roles.

In 1994 Heintzsch left the operetta stage, retired and was made an honorary member of the Dresden State Operetta. Werner Heintzsch died in Dresden in 2008 after a short illness at the age of 79.
