Heinz-Volker Rausch

Heinz-Volker Rausch (born January 8, 1940 in Karlsruhe ; † May 1, 1999 in Nuremberg ) was a German political scientist and university professor.

After studying political science, history, law, sociology and philosophy at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Freiburg , he received his doctorate in 1973 and then worked as a research assistant in Munich until 1984. This was followed by professorships at the University of Bochum and the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich . Rausch took on a teaching position for political science at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in 1982, before taking on a professorship for political science at the chair for communication and political science in 1984. Rausch researched and taught primarily in the field of classical political theories and philosophy. He also wrote numerous papers on parliamentary research, many on behalf of the Bavarian State Center for Political Education . In 1969 he was a founding member of the German Association for Parliamentary Affairs . From 1967 to 1971, Rausch carried out a study, financially supported by the Bundestag, on the self-image of MPs with regard to parliamentary reform.
