Heinz Bernhard Orlinski

Heinz Bernhard Orlinski (born August 20, 1928 in Hindenburg ; † October 19, 2012 in Kaarst ) was a German church musician , composer and university professor.

Orlinski studied at the music academies in Weimar and Cologne with Johannes E. Köhler, Josef Zimmermann and Frank Martin . Since 1960 he has taught at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf . He was later appointed professor and head of the Catholic Church Music Department. He also taught at the University of Düsseldorf and held the office of custodian of the organ at St. Andreas. Later he was director of the Collegium musicum at the University of Düsseldorf. Orlinski worked as an organist and improviser in Germany and Europe.

Demise

Orlinski died suddenly and unexpectedly of heart failure on October 19, 2012.
