Reinhard Kluth

Reinhard Theodor Kluth (born July 31, 1950 in Dülken ; † July 12, 2020 in Tübingen ) was a German church musician and composer .

Life

Reinhard Kluth studied church music at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf . In 1976 he passed his exams and in 1978 the artistic maturity examination. His teachers were Jürg Baur , Hans-Dieter Möller , Heinz Bernhard Orlinski , Friedemann Gottschick and Alberte Brun . He attended master classes in choir and orchestral conducting for historical performance practice with Hermann Max. During his studies, Kluth also worked as assistant organist at the St. Vitus Minster in Mönchengladbach with Viktor Scholz .

From 1978 to 1982 cantor at St. Michael, Mönchengladbach, 1983 to 1985 cantor at St. Peter in Düsseldorf, 1986 to 1988 cantor in St. Michael, Wermelskirchen. From 1989 to 2001 Kluth worked as a cantor at the St. Antonius Church in the Friedrichstadt district of Düsseldorf . He is a member of the Hermann Schroeder Society. From 2001 to 2013 he was the pastoral area choirmaster of the Düsseldorf parish community Eller-Lierenfeld .

Reinhard Kluth lived from 2013 to 2016 as a freelance composer, church musician and music teacher in Tübingen- Kilchberg; he was organist at St. Petrus and Pankratius in Tübingen and since 2016 deputy cathedral organist in Rottenburg. In Tübingen-Bühl he headed the Bühl 1878 choir group from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 he was director of the Small Cantorei in Tübingen, which he founded . From October 1, 2016 to August 31, 2018 he was a collegiate church musician and organist at the collegiate church in Horb am Neckar .
