Heinz Binder

Heinz Binder (born January 29, 1943 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian football player and coach.

Career

Heinz Binder made a name for himself as a defender in the stopper position, but was also able to help out in midfield. Described as a quiet and humble player, his career began with SV Donau Wien , which he joined when he was eleven. In 1958 he moved to FS Elektra Vienna , where he made his first appearances in the second-rate Regionalliga Ost . Ultimately, he was hired by Vienna Austria in 1963 and played in the championship for the violets for the next four years.

As runner-up and ÖFB Cup finalist in 1964, Heinz Binder missed winning the title twice, when he won the 1967 Cup, his successor Johann Frank was already on the field. Nevertheless, the Austria time was quite successful for the defender, because he was able to play in the national team and, after a successful debut in the 3-2 win against Yugoslavia on September 27, 1964, strongly recommend himself to the team. In total he made nine appearances for Austria by 1966, but failed to qualify for the '66 World Cup .

In 1967 he switched to FC Wacker Innsbruck , where Heinz Binder was ultimately able to become Austrian champion after winning the cup in 1970, 1970/71 and now as SSW Innsbruck 1971/72 . After these successes, Heinz Binder left Innsbruck for Donawitzer SV Alpine , where he was able to establish himself with the Styrians in the upper half of the table. The 1974 ten league reform brought relegation to the national league . Nevertheless, Heinz Binder returned to first division football, from 1975 to 1977 he still played as a regular for the GAK and did not miss a single minute of the game in his last Bundesliga season.

As a trainer he worked for Wacker Innsbruck, DSV Leoben and the GAK.
