Heinz Boock

Heinz Boock (born October 7, 1929 in Stendal ; † November 2, 2018 in Berlin ) was a football coach who worked in Berlin .

Career

Boock has been involved in football since his youth and has been a member of the BFC Meteor 06 football club since the 1960s . As one of the first holders of the A license as a football coach after the war, he was temporarily the association coach of the VBB youth team as early as 1963. In 1965 he coached the regional league team of BFC Viktoria 89 . Later he was coach of the regional league team of his club and also at Tennis Borussia Berlin as an interim coach.

In the 1970s Boock was the discoverer at BFC Meteor 06 and until he was 15 years old he was the sponsor of the future German national player and world champion Thomas Häßler . Other players in the Bundesliga who later became known, such as Wolfgang Sühnholz ( FC Bayern Munich ) and Christian Hausmann (including Bayer Leverkusen ), were also trained by him at BFC Meteor 06.

Honors

For his outstanding services in youth work with disadvantaged young people in his club, he received the DFB merit badge in 1981 and the plaque of honor from the Berlin Senate for special services to the promotion of sport in 1986. In 1996 the Federal President awarded him the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany.
