Heinz Elzemann (born December 9, 1933 ) was a soccer player in the GDR soccer game . In the top division, the GDR Oberliga , he played from 1956 to 1960 for SC progress Weissenfels .

Heinz Elzemann was a member of the team as early as 1951, when Weißenfels ' leading football team was still running under the name of the company sports community (BSG) Schuhmetro in the newly founded second-rate GDR league . When the team, now acting as a sport club progress, fought for promotion to the GDR league in the 1954/55 season, Elzemann had already become an indispensable regular player. As a half right striker, he played the majority of the point games. In the transition round, which consisted of 13 games each, to align with the calendar season valid from 1956, he could only be used in the first two matches and only came back to the team in the 1956 league season in the second half of the season. He was used by the new coach Herbert Worbs in all point games until the end of the season as a left midfielder. From 1957 Elzemann was again the undisputed regular player, was in all league point games, but now moved into the right midfield. He held the position until the end of 1959, with only three encounters in 1958. After the SC progress was able to achieve its best league result with 6th place in the table in 1959, the team experienced a rapid drop in performance in the 1960 season. When the SC progress was still without a win after 16 match days in the league, coach Gerhard glasses made a radical cut and deleted several regular players from the league squad. Among them was the 27-year-old Heinz Elzemann, who had already been disregarded several times in the previous season or only came on as a substitute. Of the 16 point games he had only completed 10 matches. In October 1960 Elzemann was officially retired from the league team together with his teammates Dieter Gänkler and Hans Ackermann . The SC progress Weissenfels rose from the league without a win at the end of the season. Apart from the transition round in 1955, Elzemann had played 98 games in the GDR league and scored seven goals.
