Heinz Fischer (director)
Heinz Fischer (born December 2, 1901 , † December 3, 1982 ) was a German film director and screenwriter.
Fischer mainly made documentaries, such as a film about the midnight building in Stuttgart in 1928 . At that time he had his own production company in Wiesbaden .
After the division of Germany, he worked for DEFA . During this time z. B. the films Hoffmanns Erzählungen (1958), ballet soloists of the Lindenoper (1963) and Dresdner Kreuzchor .
His DEFA film Die Wartburg , which was filmed for the anniversary of this castle in 1967, was initially approved, but withdrawn in 1976 because it represented the Wartburg as a symbol of shared German history.
Part of his estate is kept in the Potsdam Film Museum.
