Heinz Gleinig (born October 23, 1921 ; † 1979 or 1980) was a German racing cyclist and trainer .

Heinz Gleinig took part in the International Peace Tour for the GDR in 1952 . The Illustrierte Radsport wrote about his nomination: Heinz Gleinig's nomination is quite justified in view of the latest results at the spring races. On the third and longest stage with 223 kilometers, he achieved his best daily ranking with sixth place. In the meantime, he took fourth place in the overall individual ranking. On the seventh stage, Gleinig suffered from an upset stomach and fell back in the overall standings. At the end of the tour he finished 44th in the overall individual ranking. With his teammates Rudi Kirchhoff , Paul Dinter , Gustav-Adolf Schur , Bernhard Trefflich and Horst Gaede , he wore the blue jersey of the best team for four days during the tour. On the third stage they had won it from Belgium and on the seventh stage they lost to the eventual winners from Great Britain.

In the one-day race in 1952 Gleinig reached sixth place at the season opener Berlin-Angermünde-Berlin and fourth place at Berlin-Leipzig . In addition, he was sixth at Berlin – Finsterwalde – Berlin and second at Rund um die Landeskrone .

Gleinig started for the first team of the SV unit on the GDR tour in 1952. He won the 3rd stage from Schwerin to Magdeburg over 224 kilometers. Together with his teammates Werner Gallinge, Rudi Pietsch, Heinz Sippli and Bernhard Trefflich , Gleinig won the overall team classification (pink jersey) of the tour. They fought for it on the fourth stage and defended them until the end of the tour.

After his active career, Gleinig was a trainer at SC Dynamo Berlin for many years and helped to build up their cycling department. He then worked as a functionary.

Heinz Gleinig died at the age of 58.
