Heinz Hasenkruger

Heinz Hasenkrüger (born August 3, 1927 - † May 17, 2014 ) was a German sports educator and university teacher .

Life

Hasenkrüger began studying at the Martin Luther University in Halle in the 1950s .

In 1969 Hasenkrüger's habilitation was accepted, the text was entitled "The curriculum for physical education - a historical, comparative and empirical study". He took up a professorship at the University of Halle-Wittenberg. In 1973 he published the work "Forms of Constellation in Physical Education". He headed a collective of authors who worked on the subject of sports facilities in the form of teaching materials for school sports on behalf of the Department of Teacher Education of the Ministry of Popular Education and published a textbook in 1988. As early as 1984, he and Willi Knappe wrote the work “Methodology of Physical Education”, also published by the Ministry of National Education.

From 1991 to 1992 he was head of the Institute for Sports Science at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. During this time he was involved in restructuring the institute and introducing new courses.

The main focus of his work as a sports scientist and university lecturer included sports teacher training as well as the methodology and didactics of school sports. Among other things, he highlighted the use of media such as audio tapes and cassette films in the classroom. Later he looked back at school sport and school sport research in East Germany between 1945 and 1990. Hasenkrüger also worked from a historical perspective on “The development of the methodology of physical education at Martin Luther University 1948–1988” and “Sports methodology, sports didactics and sports education in the second half of the 20th century in Germany ”.
