Heinz Hermann (athlete)
Heinz Hermann (born May 28, 1915 in Siegen , † March 19, 1996 in Siegsdorf ) was a German athlete .
Hermann began his career at the German Championships in 1939 with a fourth place in the decathlon . In 1942 he took second place behind Ernst Schmidt at the German championships as a member of the Marienwerder Army Sports Club . On July 24 and 25, 1943, Hermann won the German championship title for SC Charlottenburg Berlin , ahead of Ernst Schmidt and Ludwig Koppenwallner . Hermann was also active as a field handball player for VfL Gummersbach .
In 1958 he donated a decathlon cup, which was awarded between 1976 and 1992.
