Heinz Hillmann

Heinz Hillmann (* 1934 ) is a German specialist in German.

Life

After receiving his doctorate in Bonn in 1961 and his habilitation in 1968 in Hamburg , he taught there from 1968 to 1971 as a private lecturer in German philology with special attention to recent German literary history and from 1971 to 2001 as professor of German philology with special focus on recent German literary history.

His focus is on literature from the 18th and 20th centuries, fairy tales, the imagery of Romanticism, GDR literature, reception research and narrative structures from antiquity to the present.
