Heinz Hinz

Heinz Hinz (born December 14, 1919 in Gelsenkirchen , † March 22, 1988 ) was a German football player. With FC Schalke 04 he was two German champions.

Career

At the age of 17, Hinz came to the German soccer champions FC Schalke 04 in 1937, for whom he ran as the right runner for the first time on December 12, 1937 in a 7-1 win against SuS Hüsten 09 . With Hinz, the miners again reached the championship finals in 1937/38 . There, however, Hinz was only used in a preliminary round game. Schalke lost their championship title against Hannover 96 after two finals (3: 3, 3: 4). In the final round of 1938/39 Hinz completed three games, but was not in the victorious final due to an injury (9-0 over Admira Vienna ). In the third championship year, Hinz came after seven final rounds on July 21, 1940 for the first time in the final and won his first championship title as a right defender with a 1-0 victory over Dresdner SC . Schalke also made it to the finals again in 1941. Again Hinz denied all final matches and was on June 22, 1941 as a half-left striker again in the final, which was lost 3: 4 against Rapid Vienna . In 1942 Hinz played in four final round matches and won his second German championship as a half-left striker after a 2-0 win over Vienna . In the same year Hinz played his only cup final , but Schalke lost against TSV 1860 Munich with 0-2.

After the Second World War , Hinz moved to the 1947/48 season for FC Lübbecke, based in the north of Westphalia, in the district class. In his three seasons he rose to the 1948/49 season in the Landesliga Westfalen . In 1950 he switched to Rot-Weiss Essen . With food he played in the Oberliga West , one of the five highest divisions at the time. In 1952 he won the West German championship with Rot-Weiss and played four of the six finals in the final round of the German championship. With three wins and three defeats, the West Germans missed the final.

At the age of 31 Hinz left Essen and played one more season at VfB Bottrop in the 2nd League West in 1952/53 .
