Life

The son of the head of the Schifferstadt community savings bank Theobald Hoffmann ("Dewald") earned his Abitur and was called up for labor and military service. After the end of the war, he was able to begin his medical studies at the University of Mainz, which he continued in the USA from 1949, where he also completed an engineering degree. At Reeves Instrument Corporation on Long Island he was initially employed as a designer and at the same time committed to working in the Apollo space program; later he was appointed to the company's technical director. As a member of the Republicans , he was also politically active.

At the age of 45, Hoffmann studied and received his doctorate in education and then received a professorship at the private Sarasota University. He not only taught his American experience in value analysis and creativity at university, but also made them available to German industry as early as the 1970s. He was a consultant for the VDI working group “Value Management” for 15 years.
