Heinz Horninger (born January 28, 1908 in Linz ; † unknown) was an Austrian mathematician and university professor .

Life

Heinz Horninger was born in Linz in 1908. He studied from 1926 to 1930 at the University of Graz and the Technical University of Graz, graduating with a degree in engineering, was there from 1923 to 1939 and was assistant in 1935 to Dr. techn. PhD. In 1937 he became a private lecturer at the Graz University of Technology. During the National Socialist era , Horninger became a member of the NSDAP. In 1939 he became a dietician for descriptive geometry at the University of Berlin and held this position until February 1943.

Heinz Horninger published in the magazine “ Deutsche Mathematik ”, which represents racial positions .

In 1943 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Graz . He was in a leading position in the Gaudozentenbund of the NSDDB . In 1944 he received a full professorship.

After the end of the Second World War , Heinz Horninger was ousted from his post at the University of Graz because of his active work as a National Socialist.

In 1948 Horninger became professor for descriptive geometry at İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi . He held this position until 1963, when he accepted a call to the Montan University Leoben and became professor for applied geometry. He retired from the Montan University Leoben in 1978 and was succeeded by Hellmuth Stachel .
