Heinz Kügerl (born June 18, 1986 in Graz ) is a former Austrian basketball player .
Career
The 2.10 m tall and 110 kg heavy center was discovered as a 13-year-old during a streetball tournament . He was trained at the Kapfenberg Bulls Academy. In 2004 Kügerl received a professional contract for the Kapfenberg Bulls. Except for an interruption in the 2007/08 season, in which he switched to UBC St. Pölten on loan for a year , he played for the Kapfenberg Bulls, with whom he was three times national champion.
For the 2012/2013 season he was originally supposed to play for the Fürstenfeld Panthers , but due to illness, the contract was terminated during the preparation for the season, Kügerl paused for the rest of the season.
After he was temporarily not active in professional basketball, he was signed up for the current season by UBSC Raiffeisen Graz in November 2013 . In October 2014 he played his last game for Graz.
Kügerl's greatest successes include three Austrian championship titles (2002, 2003, 2004) and a victory in the cup (2007). Kügerl was a member of the Austrian national team .
