Heinz Küpper (born April 24, 1935 in Weilerswist , Euskirchen district ) is a German CDU politician .

education and profession

Heinz Küpper graduated from the Emil Fischer High School in Euskirchen in 1955 . He then studied at the University of Education in Cologne . In 1957 he passed the first state examination for teaching at elementary schools, and in 1962 the second state examination. He taught at several schools in what is now Erftstadt . From 1966 he was Rector of the Adolf Kolping School in Lechenich , from 1969 to 1975 Rector of the Theodor-Heuss-Hauptschule Erftstadt-Lechenich.

Political activity until 1980

Heinz Küpper has been a member of the CDU since 1953. He began his political career in the Junge Union . He was district chairman of the Euskirchen district and district chairman of the Junge Union Mittelrhein.

For many years he was chairman of the CDU city association in Lechenich and Erftstadt. From 1964 to 1974 Küpper was a city councilor in Lechenich and Erftstadt.

Since 1964 Küpper was a member of the Euskirchen district association. In 1974 he became the deputy district chairman of the CDU in the Euskirchen district. He was a member of the Euskirchen district assembly from 1961 and since 1972 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Euskirchen district assembly. 1972 to 1975 he acted as deputy district administrator . As a representative of the Euskirchen district, he was a member of the landscape assembly of the Rhineland Regional Council from 1969 to 1975 .

From May 28, 1975 to May 28, 1980, Heinz Küpper was a directly elected member of the 8th State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency 010 Euskirchen II.

Head of Culture and First Alderman of the City of Erftstadt

After his election as head of culture for the city of Erftstadt on October 1, 1981, he held this post from January 1, 1982 and that of First Deputy for almost 18 years until he retired on September 30, 1999.

In 1991 he was one of the initiators of the town twinning with Jelenia Góra and promoted the lively contact between the towns.

retirement

Heinz Küpper remained politically active even in retirement. Since 2000 he has been chairman of the board of the Rhein-Erft-Verkehrsgesellschaft (REVG). He has also been a member of the supervisory board of Regionalverkehr Köln (RVK) since 2000 . As a district council member of the Rhein-Erft district , he has represented the constituencies of Gymnich , Kierdorf , Köttingen and Blessem since the district council election in October 1999 .

He is active in several committees and bodies, including as a member of the Presidium and Main Committee of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and as Deputy Chairman of the German-Polish Committee of CEMR.

Honors

  • 1982 Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
  • 2001 District Association Medal of the German Red Cross (District Association Rhein-Erft) for honorary work as chairman of the Erftstadt city association.
  • 2005 Golden Badge of Honor for the Christian Democratic Workforce .
