Heinz Ritter (politician, 1924)

Heinz Ritter (born June 11, 1924 in Berlin ; † August 27, 2004 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Heinz Ritter attended a commercial college and did an apprenticeship as an industrial and advertising clerk in the metal industry . He was of the Wehrmacht confiscated and eventually fell into American captivity .

After the Second World War , Ritter returned to Berlin in 1947 and initially worked as an administrative clerk in the Tiergarten district office , later becoming a civil servant there . In 1956 he joined the SPD. In the Berlin election in 1958 , he was elected to the district assembly in Berlin-Tiergarten. From 1963 to 1967 Ritter was chairman of the district assembly. In the 1971 election he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, and in 1981 he left parliament.
