Heinz Theisen (cyclist)

Heinz Theisen (born April 22, 1935 ) is a former German racing cyclist , bicycle mechanic and producer of knitwear.

Career

Heinz Theisen won his first of around 400 races on track and road on October 30, 1948 in Mönchengladbach . As a professional he played in 1963 a. a. the Vuelta a España and around the Henninger Tower . He won his last road race in August 1983 in St. Johann (Tyrol) and became world champion in the Masters senior category for the third time .

From 1985 to 1990 he was in charge of the national track team of the Association of German Cyclists as a mechanic at four UCI World Championships and the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul . He also worked as a supervisor for the professional cycling teams Telekom and Coast .

From 1965, Heinz Theisen produced jerseys for local cycling clubs on his own knitting machines under the name “Thei-Sprint Strickwaren”. The demand grew, so that Theisen soon became one of the largest suppliers of cycling clothing in Germany.
