Heinz Wöstmann

Heinz Wöstmann (born August 12, 1966 in Münster ) is a German lawyer and a judge at the Federal Court of Justice since 2007 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1986, Wöstmann studied law at the Münster municipal high school at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . From 1992 to 1995 he completed his legal clerkship at the Münster Regional Court . In 1995 he joined the higher judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and was appointed judge at the regional court of Dortmund in 1999 after assignments at the Dortmund district court and the Lünen district court.

In 2001 he was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe as a research assistant . He was appointed judge at the Hamm Higher Regional Court in 2003 while he was at the Federal Court of Justice, where he remained seconded. Immediately afterwards, in 2004, he was seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court as a research assistant .

In April 2006, the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia elected him deputy member of the Constitutional Court of North Rhine-Westphalia, and in May 2006 the judges' selection committee elected him as judge at the Federal Court of Justice. The presidium gave Wöstmann the III. Assigned to the civil senate, which is responsible, among other things, for legal disputes over public law compensation services, contracts and employment relationships. With effect from April 11, 2016, he moved to the 2nd Civil Senate responsible for company and association law. He is also a member of the Senate for Notary Matters.

Wöstmann is one of the youngest judges ever to be elected to the Federal Court of Justice. On the occasion of a. In March 2009 and July 2015, Wöstmann was elected as a deputy member of the State Court of Baden-Württemberg by the Baden-Württemberg State Parliament.

Wöstmann is a lecturer at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, Münster and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. He was elected to the CDU Federal Party Court in 2006 and has been a member of the KDSt.V. since 1989 . Alemannia Greifswald and Münster in the CV and chairman of the court of honor. He is chairman of the Rheinstetten community foundation. Since May 2019 he has been the city councilor of Rheinstetten and deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.
