Heinz Werner Bongard (born February 4, 1944 ) is a German amateur and senior bodybuilder .

Life

Heinz Werner Bongard grew up in Mülheim an der Ruhr . Bongard began wrestling and boxing in his youth ; weightlifting was added during his military service in the 1960s .

Bongard is a trained baker and worked as a chief driver for a large company in Krefeld until his retirement . He is married and has two daughters.

Sporting successes

Due to problems with the musculoskeletal system, Heinz Werner Bongard began special strength and bodybuilding training. A short time later he started successfully in bodybuilding amateur competitions (state championships).

In the 1980s and 1990s, Heinz Werner Bongard started at newly introduced senior championships. Here he was able to celebrate several successes in state and national competitions in the senior classes "over 40" and "over 50". In addition, Bongard acted as a referee in various competitions.

Heinz Werner Bongard had his greatest bodybuilding success at the age of 61 at the 2005 German Senior Championship in Duisburg : There he was the winner in the "over 60" age group.

In 2008, the 64-year-old Bongard received the NRW senior title in bodybuilding. His current competition weight is 72 kg and he is 1.74 m tall.

In 2016, at the age of 72, Bongard won the German senior championship in bench press with a pressed weight of 95 kg. Bongard won another championship title at the International German Championship in powerlifting in Plettenberg.
