Heinz Siegfried Wolff (born April 29, 1928 in Berlin ; died December 15, 2017 in London ) was a British biotechnologist and TV presenter.

Life

Heinz Wolff emigrated to Great Britain with his Jewish family in 1939. He studied physiology and physics at University College London . He worked for the Medical Research Council and advisor to the European Space Agency (ESA) . From 1983 he was Professor of Bioengineering and founder of the Brunel Institute for Bioengineering at Brunel University London. Among other things, he dealt with how people can survive in hostile environments.

He gained national fame as the presenter (1977–1986) of the popular BBC TV series The Great Egg Race .

Heinz Wolff played a key role in the production of the PC game Gravity, which was named after him.
