Heinzmann von Silenen

Heinzmann von Silenen (* before 1390 , † after June 12, 1450 ) was governor of the Valais .

Career

Heinzmann von Silenen came from a family in Uri that branched out to Visp in the first decade of the 14th century through the marriage of Konrad von Silenen to Aymonetta de Platea . He became Kastlan von Visp in 1423, 1431 and 1443 . As governor he served under the bishops Andreas dei Benzi and Wilhelm von Raron . In 1441 he acquired a residential tower in the Visper castle, which collapsed in the earthquake of 1855 and was rebuilt.
