The industrial park Höchst thermal power station supplies the Höchst industrial park with electrical energy and process heat . Infraserv Höchst is the operator of the power plant .

The combined heat and power plant includes three units that are operated in combined heat and power and thus achieve an energy utilization rate of over 90 percent: Unit A consists of a 40 megawatt gas turbine that went into operation in 2003 , the exhaust gases of which are heated to 550 degrees in a steam generator , the can also be fired directly with natural gas, can still be used. Together with the back pressure turbines fed from this steam generator , which relax the high pressure steam from 121 bar to 16 bar and 4.2 bar, the electrical output is 86 megawatts. Unit B of the power plant consists of steam boilers that mainly burn hard coal , which is delivered to the Main by barge . If necessary, natural gas or oil can also be used as primary energy, as well as biogas and residual gases from other production processes generated in the industrial park. The electrical output of the block is given as 66 megawatts, the year of construction is 1989. The third block is a combined cycle power plant that went into operation in 2011 with two gas turbines and a total output of 96.5 megawatts.

The most striking structure of this complex is the 167 meter high D582 chimney , which was built in 1979 and is painted in color. The design for this painting comes from the industrial designer Friedrich Ernst von Garnier .
