The Sandreuth cogeneration plant is essentially a combined cycle power plant operated by N-ERGIE in Nuremberg- Sandreuth with an installed capacity of 462 MW thermal and 225 MW electrical output. With a height of 151.55 m, the chimney of the Sandreuth thermal power station is the second tallest structure in Nuremberg.
In addition to the combined cycle power plant, there has been a biomass cogeneration plant on the site since July 6, 2012 , which is fired with wood chips and has an electrical standard capacity of 40 GWh per year. This corresponds to an average output of 4.5 MW.
